# Courses (/en/businesses/courses)

A course is a series of classes that people sign up for once. A ten-week beginners' pilates course, a yoga term for the same group and a junior tennis season from September to May are all courses. The customer joins a group of the course, and Thril puts them on that group's classes. For classes people book one at a time, use [weekly classes and event series](/businesses/events/recurring-classes).

A course has one or more **groups**. A group is the level or time slot people choose: Beginners on Monday, Advanced on Wednesday. Each group has its own classes, participant limit, price and instructors. The course holds what the groups share: the registration period, the [payment mode](/businesses/courses/payments) and who can sign up.

**Course type** shows the course as a **Course** or a **Season** on your venue page.

## Upfront courses, junior seasons and pay-per-class series [#upfront-courses-junior-seasons-and-pay-per-class-series]

**A ten-week pilates course paid upfront.** **Pay to join** with a **Fixed total price** on each group. Customers pay the whole course when they join, also with a session card that covers course enrollments.

**A junior season billed after it starts.** **Pay later**, with **Who can sign up** set to **Only children added by a guardian**. Guardians sign their children up without paying. Once the season is under way, you send payment requests to each group with a **Flexible** price, priced by the classes each child attended.

**A weekly yoga series paid class by class.** **Pay per session** with a price on each class. With **Open classes to non-participants** on, drop-ins fill the free places once registration has closed.

**A course at a partner venue.** Pick the other venue under **Link to external venue**, and the course lists on both venues' pages. The other venue grants you the **Link events** authorization first. Read more in [Partner venues](/businesses/getting-started/partner-venues).

## Course classes [#course-classes]

Each class is a course class event with its own date, time, resources and instructors. It shows in your calendars, books the resources it uses, and tracks attendance like any class. Read more in [Events](/businesses/events).

When you edit a group, you can sync the change onto its existing classes, or let it reach only the classes you add later.

## Running the course again [#running-the-course-again]

**Duplicate course** copies the course with every group into new dates. The dates move in whole weeks, and classes keep their weekdays. **Copy classes** brings the classes along, with their times, resources, prices and instructors, and leaves the participants, queues, payments and form answers behind. The copy waits for you to publish it.

**Duplicate group** copies one group within the course. **Copy classes from another group** copies a group's classes into this one, shifted by the time you choose.
