# Staff accounts and roles (/en/businesses/getting-started/staff-and-roles)

Everyone who works in the Thril dashboard has their own staff account, and a role decides what they see. A clerk at the POS runs the calendar and sales without seeing your revenue. A venue manager runs one venue's settings and marketing while the company's billing stays with the owners. An instructor works from their own calendar and the classes they teach.

## The roles [#the-roles]

A role covers either the whole company or one venue.

| Role | Reaches | Good for |
| ------------------- | ------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Company admin** | Every venue, everything | The person who created the company |
| **Company manager** | Every venue, everything | Owners, partners and general managers who run the day with you |
| **Venue admin** | One venue | The manager of one site in a chain |
| **Venue clerk** | One venue | Staff at the POS and customer service |
| **Coach** | One venue, own work only | Instructors, personal trainers and coaches |

A company manager has the same access as the company admin, including inviting staff. The company admin role itself stays with the person who created the company.

A **Venue admin** runs the venue: resources, pricing, booking rules, events, products, statistics, marketing, integrations and authorizations. The company's money and people stay with the company roles:

- **Payments** and **Invoices**
- **Welcome offers**
- The company settings: **Company details**, **User management**, **Invoicing**, **Stripe** and **Navigation**

A venue admin sees the company's workflows, but only the company roles can build and change them.

A **Venue clerk** gets the day-to-day work: the calendar, reservations, the POS, events, customers, chats, products and **Announcements**.

## Coaches [#coaches]

A coach signs in as their own employee and gets a short sidebar of their own. A coach can:

- See every employee's calendar and book services on it.
- Manage the bookings on their own calendar, including rescheduling, marking them paid and cancelling with a refund.
- Edit their own employee: schedule, blockers, public profile and notifications.
- See the events they instruct, with participants, and mark attendance.
- See the customers of the venues where they coach, add new ones and chat with them.

Reservations, products, payments and settings stay with the other roles. Give the role at each venue where the person works, and link their user to their employee under [**Employees**](/businesses/services/employees#linked-users-and-coaches).

---

## Inviting staff [#inviting-staff]

Invite staff under **Settings** → **User management** with **Invite users**. You enter the person's name and email and pick their role. The invite is for the venue you are working in. To give someone a role at another venue, switch to that venue and invite them there.

Use an email address that is not on a customer account in the Thril app. For a new staff account, Thril shows the password once. Pass it on in person or by phone.

In the same list you can change someone's role, and **Revoke seat** removes them.

A partner venue or club that works with you gets an [authorization](/businesses/getting-started/partner-venues) instead of a staff account.

## Dashboard language [#dashboard-language]

The dashboard language is set per person. **Display language** under **Settings** → **General settings** changes it for your account, and Thril sends the staff emails meant for you in that language.

Customers [pick their own language](/consumers/change-language) in the app or on the web.
