# Invoices (/en/businesses/invoices)

An invoice lets a customer pay for a booking or a purchase later. It suits the people who don't pay in the app: a company that books a slot for its staff every Tuesday and pays once a month, a club that pays for its season by bank transfer, or a parent who wants a bill for their child's dance course. Thril keeps track of what is still owed.

## Bill companies, clubs and POS sales [#bill-companies-clubs-and-pos-sales]

**A company's monthly bill.** Make the company a [company customer](/businesses/customers/company-customers) and give it a recurring reservation. At the end of each month, select the month's reservations on the series and **Create invoice**. See [Recurring reservations](/businesses/reservations/recurring-reservations).

**A season fee for a club.** **Create new invoice** with a line for the season, a line for the shirts from your shop, and an invoice message with the club's purchase order number.

**A POS sale on account.** At the [POS](/businesses/pos), pick invoicing as the payment method and choose the customer or company customer to bill. **Send invoice to customer** creates the invoice in the invoicing system you chose for the POS, and it waits as **Unsent** on the Invoices page until you send it. [Statistics](/businesses/statistics) count it as a sale. See [Sending](/businesses/invoices/sending-and-collecting#sending).

**Invoices paid by card.** With **Online payment on invoices** on, every invoice email and PDF carries a link where the customer pays the invoice by card. See [Sending invoices and getting paid](/businesses/invoices/sending-and-collecting).

**Benefit money on an invoice.** Mark a line **Payable with an employee benefit**, and the customer can pay that line online with an employee benefit.

**Membership periods that went unpaid.** A binding membership can invoice a period the member did not pay, through Amili. See [Invoicing unpaid membership periods](/businesses/integrations/amili#invoicing-unpaid-membership-periods).

You invoice a registered customer or a company customer. A company customer has no Thril account and carries the business details an invoice needs, such as the Business ID and e-invoicing address.

An invoice for reservations of a recurring series also shows on the series' **Invoices** tab.

## Invoicing reservations by share [#invoicing-reservations-by-share]

Each owner and payer on a reservation owes a share of its price, and an invoice bills shares. One booking can go on several invoices, one per payer, while the other players keep paying their own shares in the app.

**Create invoice** on a reservation opens a dialog in three steps:

1. **Invoice lines.** Pick the unpaid shares. A reservation with several players opens to each player's share. Each share is a line of its own, and so is each unpaid additional service, billed to the participant who bought it at its discounted price.
2. **Invoice recipients.** When the shares belong to several people, choose **Each payer gets their own invoice** or **One invoice for everything**. A guest or an unnamed participant can't get an invoice, so you pick who pays for them: someone on the booking or **Another customer**.
3. **Review.** Each invoice shows its lines and total, due in 14 days. You can edit an invoice before you send it.

When the owner covers the missing shares of a [shared payment](/businesses/reservations/managing-reservations#shared-payment), the owner's share waits until the shared payment closes, because what the others leave unpaid becomes part of it. The dialog shows the owner's share with the reason, and you can't pick it yet. The other shares can go on an invoice right away.

A reservation shows **Invoiced** once none of its shares is left to pay. Until then it stays **Confirmed**. In the app, a player whose share is invoiced sees **Invoiced**, and the others pay as before. An invoiced participant and their additional services stay on the booking at the invoiced price until you credit the invoice. Crediting an invoice in full or deleting it puts its shares back to waiting for payment.

Invoices made before reservations were billed by share cover the whole reservation and every share on it.

## Three invoicing systems [#three-invoicing-systems]

Every invoice belongs to one invoicing system, and that system sends it, follows it and records its payments.

| System | Who delivers it | Who follows the payments |
| ------------------------------------------------------ | -------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| Thril | Thril, by email with a PDF | You, in Thril |
| [Netvisor](/businesses/integrations/netvisor/invoices) | Netvisor | Netvisor, which reports payments and status back to Thril |
| [Amili](/businesses/integrations/amili) | Amili | Amili, with its own reminders and debt collection |

Thril's own invoicing needs no setup beyond your bank details. Netvisor and Amili appear once you connect them. An unsent invoice can move to another system with **Change invoicing system**. See [Corrections and credit notes](/businesses/invoices/corrections-and-credit-notes).

---

## Invoice statuses [#invoice-statuses]

An **Unsent** invoice can be merged or deleted, and a sent invoice is corrected with a credit note, which shows in the list as a negative invoice. See [Corrections and credit notes](/businesses/invoices/corrections-and-credit-notes). For an invoice in Netvisor or Amili, the status comes from that system.

**Update status** sets the status of a Thril invoice by hand, for example **Credit loss** for a debt you give up on.

---

## Invoice settings [#invoice-settings]

The **Invoicing** settings apply to every invoice your company sends:

- **Bank details.** The IBAN and BIC your invoices ask customers to pay to. Invoice PDFs carry them, or the payment link when the invoice offers online payment.
- **Online payment on invoices.** A payment link in every invoice email, PDF and reminder, paid with the customer's own payment method or an employee benefit. You can turn it off or on for a single invoice.

The logo on invoices is your company logo. See [Company and venue details](/businesses/getting-started/company-and-venue).

## Exports [#exports]

The export menu on the Invoices page downloads the invoices that match your filters as CSV or as Finvoice XML, the Finnish e-invoice format, or the payments recorded on them.
