Sending email from your own domain

Your venue's emails, workflow emails and membership welcome emails go out from your own domain, such as info@yourvenue.com, once you add DNS records at your domain provider.

Emails from your venue carry your venue's name as the sender. By default the address behind the name is Thril's. With your own domain connected, they go out from an address such as info@yourvenue.com, a sender customers recognise.

The domain covers the emails you write in Thril: emails, workflow emails and membership welcome emails. Booking confirmations, receipts and reminders keep coming from Thril.

One domain for the whole company

One domain serves your whole company, and every venue sends from the same Sender address. A subdomain such as mail.yourvenue.com works too, if you would rather keep your main domain's settings untouched.

Keep the DNS records at your domain provider for as long as the domain is connected. Remove domain takes you back to Thril's address.

Connecting your domain

The setup happens partly at your domain provider, the company where your domain is registered or whoever manages its DNS, such as your web agency.

  1. In Thril, open the Email domain settings and choose Connect domain. Enter the domain and the part of the sender address before the @.
  2. Thril shows the DNS records to add. Copy each record's type, name and value.
  3. At your domain provider, add the records exactly as shown.
  4. Back in Thril, choose Check status. If the records are not visible yet, check again later.

Add the records by the date Thril shows. After that date, checking the status starts over with new records.

Missing DNS records

If the records disappear, for example when the domain moves to a new provider or someone tidies up its DNS, the status turns to DNS records missing. Your emails are not sent until the records are back. Add the same records back at your domain provider, then choose Check status.
