Welcome offers
People get credits, a session card or a membership for joining your customer register and for allowing email offers from you.
A welcome offer rewards people for becoming your customers. Someone who joins your customer register through Thril gets a gift, and a second gift can reward allowing email offers from you. Newcomers get a reason to make a first visit, and you get customers you are allowed to email. A gift is credits, a session card or a membership.
What a welcome offer is good for
A bigger email list. Pick No gift for joining and set only the gift for marketing consent. Your current customers then see a pass that gives them something for turning on email offers.
A cheaper first booking. Somebody booking for the first time sees the welcome credits before they pay, and the credits lower the price of the first booking.
A free first visit. A free first-timer session card or a one-month membership gets a new customer through the door without a price to think about.
Sign-ups in person. When staff create a customer, Grant welcome offers gives the gifts the person is due, with or without the app.
The two gifts
- Gift for joining the customer register. A person who is not your customer yet gets this when they join through Thril. The checkout line lets first-time buyers join, and take the gift, before they pay.
- Gift for marketing consent. A person gets this the first time they allow email offers from you. Existing customers can get it too.
Use one gift or both. Somebody who joins and allows email offers at the same time gets both. Each person gets each gift once.
Choosing a gift
For each of the two gifts, pick credits, a session card or a membership, or No gift to leave it out.
- Credits. Set the amount and how many days until the credits expire. Welcome credits are spendable at every venue of your company.
- Session card or Membership. Pick one of your products, including ones hidden from your shop. A membership you gift has no recurring payments. In a company with several venues, the list shows products valid at all of them.
A gifted product works like one the customer bought: it shows in their wallet and follows the product's own validity and rules. A gifted membership sends its welcome email if the membership has one. A customer who has ever had the session card, or has the membership now, gets no second one.
A short expiry gives people a reason to come back soon, as long as they have time to use the credits.
The welcome pass and the checkout line
On your venue page and your company page, a Welcome pass shows the gift on offer, whether people came to book a court, find a class or shop. Claiming it lets the person join, allow email offers if they want, and collect the gift into their wallet.
The pass changes with the person:
| Person | What the pass offers |
|---|---|
| Not your customer yet | Joining, with email offers as an optional extra |
| Customer without email offers | Email offers only |
| Customer with email offers on, or nothing left to earn | No pass |
A person can put the pass away, and it stays within reach on the venue page.
At checkout, the same offer shows as a line above the promo code. Its switch joins your register there and then. A customer without email offers is offered the consent gift instead. If the purchase accepts credits, welcome credits come off the total straight away. Otherwise, such as on a credit top-up, the credits wait in the wallet for the next purchase.
A customer who turns on email offers later, from their customer settings on the web or in the app, also gets the gift for marketing consent.
Your own pass image
By default the left end of the pass is Thril green. Pass image puts your own image there instead, on the web and in the app, at every venue of your company.
Use a square image of at least 600 × 600 px. The pass crops it to fit. Keep what matters in the middle. The amount or the product icon sits on top of the image in white. A calm, darker image reads best.
Changing or stopping the offer
Changes apply to gifts from then on. Credits, session cards and memberships people already have stay in their wallets until they expire, also after you turn the offer off.
Gifts given and credits used
The page counts the gifts given and the credits given, spent and expired. The Rewards tab lists each gift and its customer.
Promo codes
Promo codes discount reservations, events, courses, services, memberships, session cards, products and leagues for the customers you choose, one code or hundreds of unique ones at a time.
Surveys
Surveys ask your customers what they think after a course, an event or a visit. Every answer shows which course, event and coach it is about.
