Golf playing rights

Sell golf playing rights that give their holders a cheaper or free green fee. Create the playing right, set the holders' green fee and sell it on your venue page.

A playing right gives a golfer a cheaper or free green fee at your club for as long as they hold it. In Thril a playing right is a membership with its own place in the dashboard: you manage playing rights in the golf section, and customers buy them in the Shop tab of your venue page, where they list above your memberships.

Because a playing right is a membership underneath, it is bought, renewed, invoiced, paused and ended exactly like one. Everything on the memberships pages applies, from one-season rights paid once to rights that renew every month. Emails to the holder call it a playing right instead of a membership.

Create a playing right

Create the playing right under Playing rights in the golf section. The form is the membership form without the benefits step: name, price, validity or renewal terms and visibility. A club often has a few, such as a full season right, a weekday right and a junior right.

A playing right gives nothing on its own. The green fee discount comes from tee time pricing.

Set the holders' green fee

Holders get their price from a rule on the Tee time pricing page:

  1. Create a pricing rule and in Applies to pick the playing rights it covers.
  2. Set the green fee for 9 and 18 holes. A price of 0 makes the tee time free for holders.
  3. Choose the courses, days, hours and validity dates the rule covers.

Different hours can carry different rules, so a weekday right can be free on weekdays and half price at weekends. A rule can also cap how many tee times a holder books per day or has upcoming. With Only when it undercuts the normal price, the rule applies only when it is cheaper than the price everyone else pays.

Sell playing rights

Visible playing rights show in the Shop tab of your venue page, above your memberships, where golfers buy them in the app or on the web. The shop's memberships setting shows or hides both. To give a right to someone who paid elsewhere, add the holder by hand from the playing right's page, the same way you add a member to a membership.

Memberships moved to playing rights

When playing rights arrived, memberships that a tee time pricing rule already pointed at moved to Playing rights, together with their holders and pricing rules. A membership that also gives benefits, quotas or court prices stayed under memberships, so those benefits stay visible to staff.

Where playing rights stop

Thril does not handle playing right shares, family rights, transfers between holders or guest discounts. A booking window of its own per playing right is not available either. Sales reports show playing rights together with memberships.
