Thril in Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants

Connect Thril to Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant with MCP, and ask about your reservations, customers and payments in plain language.

The AI assistant connection uses your company's Public API token. Thril adds the Public API on request. Contact Thril support to get it.

An AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT can work with your company's data in Thril through the Thril MCP server. You ask in your own words. The assistant looks up the answer from your reservations, customers, payments and events. With your permission it can also make changes, such as creating a promo code. MCP is the open standard that AI assistants use to connect to other systems, and you need no developer to set it up.

The address of the Thril MCP server is:

https://api-public.thril.fi/mcp

Questions to ask your assistant

The assistant reaches the same data and actions as the Public API. It can combine them and do the sums for you:

  • "How much did we sell in card payments last month, and how much did we refund?"
  • "Which customers' memberships expire in the next two weeks?" A pilates studio can follow up before the members drift away.
  • "Who has signed up for Saturday's padel tournament, and how many places are left?"
  • "Which evenings next week still have free times on our golf simulators?"
  • "Create a promo code for 20 % off for our partner gym's members, valid until the end of the month."
  • "Issue a free 30 € gift card for a customer whose class was cancelled, and give me the code."

Ask "What can you do with Thril?" after you connect, and the assistant lists the actions it has.

Before you connect

The API token. The person who connects an assistant enters your company's Public API token once, on a Thril page in the browser. The assistant never sees the token. Anyone with the token can connect an assistant to all of your company's data, so give it only to people who would see that data in the Thril dashboard anyway.

Reading and changing. On the Thril page you choose what the connection may do. Read Thril data lets the assistant look things up. Change Thril data also lets it book recurring reservations, issue gift cards, create promo codes and change the pricing rules of your resources. Start with reading only. You can connect again later to add changes.

Your customers' data. What the assistant reads, customers' names and contact details included, goes to the company behind the assistant, under your agreement with them. Use an assistant your company already trusts with customer data, such as a business plan of Claude or ChatGPT.

Signing in to Thril

Every assistant connects the same way. After you add the Thril address, the assistant opens a Thril page in your browser:

  1. Check that the page names the assistant you are connecting and that you started the connection yourself.
  2. Enter your company's Public API token.
  3. Under Access, keep Read Thril data selected. Select Change Thril data too if you want the assistant to make changes.
  4. Click Connect. The browser returns to the assistant, and Thril is ready to use.

Let the assistant guide you

The assistants know their own settings well. If you can't find a menu or a step does not match what you see, ask the assistant itself: "I want to add an MCP server at https://api-public.thril.fi/mcp as a connector. Walk me through it." Menus in these apps change often, and the assistant knows the version you are using.

The same works once Thril is connected. Ask the assistant to explain a number, to try a question another way, or to suggest what to look at next.

Connecting Claude

In Claude on the web or the desktop app:

  1. Open Customize → Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Enter the Thril address https://api-public.thril.fi/mcp and click Add. If Claude asks how to sign in, choose Register automatically.
  4. Sign in to Thril on the page that opens.

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector under Organization settings → Connectors. Each person then finds Thril under Customize → Connectors with the Custom label, clicks Connect and signs in to Thril.

In a chat, Claude uses Thril when the question needs it. You can turn the connector off for a chat from the + menu.

Claude Code

Add Thril in the terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http thril https://api-public.thril.fi/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code, pick thril and sign in to Thril in the browser. Claude Code needs version 2.1.232 or later.

Connecting ChatGPT

ChatGPT connects to MCP servers in developer mode, which is on paid plans. In a Business or Enterprise workspace, an admin may need to allow it first.

  1. Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT's settings.
  2. Create an app and enter the Thril address https://api-public.thril.fi/mcp. Choose OAuth as the sign-in method if ChatGPT asks.
  3. Sign in to Thril on the page that opens.
  4. In a chat, pick Thril from the developer mode tools.

ChatGPT moves these settings between versions. If the menus look different, ask ChatGPT: "How do I add an MCP server in developer mode?"

Connecting other tools

Any AI tool that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in can connect to Thril, such as code editors with an AI assistant. Add a remote or HTTP MCP server in the tool's settings, enter https://api-public.thril.fi/mcp, and sign in to Thril when the tool opens the browser. The tool's own assistant can usually tell you where its MCP settings are.

Disconnecting an assistant

Remove the Thril connector in the assistant's settings. To cut off a connection for good, ask Thril support to revoke it. A new Public API token disconnects every assistant connected with the old one, and each person connects again with the new token.
