Emails and notifications
How to choose which emails and push notifications Thril sends you, why they may not arrive, and how to stop or restart a venue's own emails.
You choose which messages Thril sends by email and which as push notifications in your notification settings. Push notifications need the Thril app on your phone. A venue's own newsletters and announcements are separate, and you turn them on or off for each venue.
Choose what you get
- On the web, open My Thril (on a phone, Menu) and choose Notification settings.
- In the app, open the Profile tab, choose Settings and then Notifications.
If a type is off for both push and email, Thril sends nothing for it. Not every type has both channels. Receipts and door codes come by email only, and some types, such as Messages and Venue announcements, come by push only.
If you have the app, reminders and queue messages come only as push until you turn their email on. Without the app, they come by email.
Sign-in emails always come, whatever your settings. If one doesn't arrive, see Sign-in problems.
If push notifications do not arrive
- Make sure you are signed in to the Thril app on your phone.
- Check that your phone allows notifications from Thril. When you turn on a push type in the app, the app asks for permission. If you said no earlier, the app offers to open your phone's settings.
- Check that the type is on under Push in your notification settings.
If emails do not arrive
- Look in your spam folder.
- Check that the type is on under Email in your notification settings.
- Check the email address on your account. If you sign in with Apple and hid your email, Thril's emails go through Apple's relay address.
Emails from a venue
A venue can send you its own newsletters, offers and announcements. You choose them for each venue:
- On the web, open My Thril (on a phone, Menu), choose All settings and then Customerships. Open the venue.
- In the app, open the Profile tab, choose Settings and then My venues. Open the venue.
Under Consents, Announcements by email turns all of the venue's own emails on or off. Email marketing consent (in the app, Email marketing) covers only offers and newsletters. Turning announcements off stops marketing too. Turning them back on restores your marketing choice as it was. The unsubscribe link in a venue's email changes the same choices.
These choices do not affect Thril's own messages about your bookings and payments. A venue's announcements in the app are push notifications, and you turn them off with Venue announcements in your notification settings.
Alerts about free times at a venue
Some venues send a push notification when a time comes free. To stop them from one venue, open the venue in the app, open its menu and choose Stop telling me about free slots. Tell me about free slots turns them back on. To stop them from every venue, turn off Free slots at your venues in your notification settings.
