Using credits, gift cards and session cards

What your Thril Wallet holds, how venue credits, Thril Tokens, gift cards and session cards pay for bookings, and when they expire.

Your Wallet holds what you have prepaid: venue credits, Thril Tokens, gift cards, session cards, memberships and recurring reservations. Each one shows its balance or remaining uses and when it expires.

  • On the web, open My Thril (on a phone, Menu) and choose Wallet.
  • In the app, open the Profile tab and choose Wallet.

Credits

Credits are a balance with a venue. If the venue belongs to a chain, they usually work at the chain's other venues too. You get credits by buying them in the venue's shop, as a refund, or as a gift from the venue.

At checkout, choose Redeem under Credits to use them. Thril never spends credits on its own. It uses the ones that expire soonest first. Credits pay for most things the venue sells: reservations, events, classes, courses, leagues, service bookings, session cards and shop products, and memberships when the venue allows it. They do not pay for more credits, gift cards or invoices, and the venue can turn credits off for a single product.

Credits you bought with an employee benefit such as Epassi or Edenred pay only for what the venue accepts the benefit for. The checkout shows how much of your balance works for that purchase.

Thril Tokens

Thril Tokens are Thril's own credits. You can use them to pay online at any venue on Thril, with Redeem under Thril Tokens at checkout. They have an expiry date, shown in your Wallet. If a payment made with tokens is refunded, the tokens come back to you as tokens.

Gift cards

A gift card has a code and a balance. It works at the venue that sold it, or at every venue of a chain if the chain sells it that way. Type the code in the Gift card or promo code field at checkout. The card pays what its balance covers, and you pay the rest with another method. One gift card fits on a payment, and a gift card cannot pay for gift cards or credits.

When you buy a gift card from a venue's shop, Thril emails it to you right after payment. Anyone who has the code can use it. Gift cards you bought are in your Wallet with their code, balance and expiry date.

Session cards

A session card is a set number of uses that you pay for up front. The venue decides what the card covers: certain resources, services, events, classes or courses. The card shows what it covers in the venue's shop before you buy and in your Wallet after.

A card is valid for a set time, counted from the purchase or from the first use. Your Wallet shows the uses left and the expiry date. When you book or join, Thril shows how many uses it takes from the card. When you join a class, choose Participate & use session card. When a booking paid with the card is cancelled with a refund, the use goes back to the card.

Getting money back for unused value

The venue decides whether you get money back for credits, gift cards or session cards you have not used. Ask the venue.
