Managing your membership

Where to find your membership on Thril, how automatic payments and membership fees work, what an unpaid fee blocks, booking limits, pauses and how to end a membership.

Your memberships are in your Wallet, on the web and in the app. Open a membership to see its benefits and limits, when the next payment is due, and to turn automatic payments on or off or end the membership.

  • On the web, open My Thril (on a phone, Menu) and choose Wallet.
  • In the app, open the Profile tab and choose Wallet.

Automatic payments

When you buy a membership that renews, the checkout ticks Use my selected card for future renewals. for you. With it on, Thril charges that card each time the membership renews. If you untick it, Thril tells you when each fee is due, and you pay it yourself.

You can change this later on the membership with Turn on automatic payments or Turn off automatic payments. Staff at the venue can change it for you too. If your bank refuses the card for good, Thril turns automatic payments off for every membership on that card. You then pay the next fees yourself. To move renewals to another card, pay the open fee with that card and tick Use my selected card for future renewals. at checkout.

If a renewal charge does not go through, Thril tells you and the fee waits for you to pay it.

Paying a membership fee yourself

When a fee is ready, Thril sends you a notification with the date to pay by. Open the membership in your Wallet and choose Pay membership fee. On the web, the fee is also listed in My Thril with a Pay button.

A venue can also add you as a member and leave the first payment for later. The membership then says that you will be notified when the fee is due.

When a fee stays unpaid

If a fee is still unpaid 7 days after it fell due, what happens depends on the membership:

  • A membership you can end at any time is cancelled. To continue, buy it again.
  • A membership with a contract, a minimum commitment or a notice period stays active, and you still owe the fee.

Until you pay, you can't make reservations or use your door access at the venue. If the venue has chosen to, you also can't join classes, events, leagues or tournaments there, and Thril cancels the classes and events you've already joined there. The venue decides whether you get that money back.

The block covers the whole family. An unpaid fee for your child's membership blocks you and your other children too, because you pay for all of them. A membership that is valid at every venue of a chain blocks at all of them.

Some venues invoice a fee that stays unpaid for 7 days. The invoice comes by email, it can no longer be paid in the app, and an unpaid invoice can go on to payment reminders and debt collection. The membership says so when the venue invoices unpaid fees.

The block lifts as soon as the fee or the invoice is paid, and Thril tells you when it has.

Booking limits

A membership can limit how much you book with it, for example six evening bookings a month, or no two bookings at the same time. Classes and events can have limits of their own.

The membership in your Wallet shows each limit and how much of it you have used. When you reach a limit, the membership says which of these happens:

  • You cannot book more with that membership until the limit resets or a booking frees up.
  • You pay the venue's standard price for the extra bookings. The price you see when you pick the time is the price you pay.

Cancelling a booking frees its share of the limit. A booking you have put up for sale still uses it.

Pauses

The venue can pause your membership, for example while you are injured or away. The membership shows when the pause starts and ends. To ask for a pause, contact the venue.

Ending your membership

If the venue lets members cancel in the app, open the membership in your Wallet, choose Terminate membership and confirm. Before you confirm, Thril shows the date your membership stays active until. You keep your benefits until then.

  • During a trial, the membership ends when the trial ends.
  • With a minimum commitment or a notice period, it stays active until the current period ends, then for what is left of the commitment, and then for the notice period.
  • Otherwise, it ends when the current period ends.

If the venue keeps cancellations to itself, the membership shows Ending your membership with the venue's phone number and email instead. A membership for a fixed number of periods ends by itself and cannot be cancelled.

Some venues email you before a minimum commitment or a fixed contract ends, with the date your membership would end if you cancelled that day.
