Open payments

Why Thril shows a payment to complete, such as a failed automatic charge, a membership fee, a course payment, an unpaid class or an invoice from a venue, and how to pay it.

Thril asks you to pay when a payment is open on something you booked, joined or own. Usually an automatic charge to your card did not go through, a membership fee is due, a venue opened the payment for a course, or a class you attended is still unpaid. Thril also sends you a message about it, unless you turned off Payment requests in your notification settings.

Where to pay

  • On the web, open My Thril (on a phone, Menu). Open payments are listed at the top with a Pay button. The home page also shows an alert with Continue to payment.
  • In the app, the alert is on the home screen. A membership fee is also in your Wallet, on the membership.

You pay with the same methods as at any checkout. See Payment methods and sport benefits.

A charge that did not go through

Thril charges your saved card automatically for a membership renewal when automatic payments are on, and for a shared booking or an open reservation whose payment deadline passes with your share unpaid. If the bank refuses the charge or asks you to approve it, the payment waits for you, marked Payment needs your action on the web.

Pay it as soon as you can. While a charge for a shared booking or an open reservation is open, you cannot make new reservations or join events on Thril. A membership fee that stays unpaid has its own consequences.

A membership fee

Open the membership in your Wallet and choose Pay membership fee. Managing your membership explains when fees fall due and how to turn on automatic payments.

A course payment

Some venues open the payment for a course after you have enrolled. You then get a notification, "You can now pay for your course!", and pay in Thril when you are ready. Thril reminds you while it stays unpaid.

A class or event after it ended

A class or event you attended without paying shows under Waiting for payment in My Thril. You can pay for it even after it ended. A venue can stop you from booking until unpaid classes are paid.

An invoice from a venue

A venue can send you an invoice by email, with the invoice attached as a PDF. If the venue offers online payment, the email has a Click here to pay online button that opens the invoice in Thril. You do not need to sign in to pay it. The receipt comes by email once the payment goes through.

Questions about the invoice go to the venue. Reply to the invoice email.

A membership fee that the venue has invoiced can no longer be paid in the app. Pay the invoice instead.

A venue can also invoice your share of a reservation. The reservation then shows Invoiced, and there is nothing to pay in the app. Pay the invoice by its due date. The others on the reservation still pay their own shares.

A payment you do not recognise

Check the venue and the item in Payment history, then contact the venue. The venue can explain its charges for bookings, memberships and invoices. If you cannot tell which venue a payment came from, email support@thril.fi.
