Splitting the cost of a booking
A shared payment splits a booking's price between the people on the booking. Everyone pays their own share in Thril, and you can leave after paying while payments are open.
When you book, choose Share payment instead of Pay in full. You pay your own share at once, and the others pay theirs in Thril before the payment deadline shown on the booking. Whatever is unpaid at the deadline is charged to you.
The venue decides whether its bookings can be shared. A free booking can't be shared, but you can still invite people to it.
Sharing the payment when you book
- At checkout, choose Share payment.
- Set how many people pay.
- Add the others now, or leave their places open and invite them later.
- Pay your own share.
Before you pay, Shared payment terms shows the time by which everyone has to pay. Thril lets you know as each person pays.
After booking, invite more people from the booking with Invite user, or send its link with Share. Anyone with the link can take an open place and pay a share.
When payments close, Thril charges the unpaid shares to the card you paid with. If you paid another way, the charge fails or your bank needs to approve it, Thril asks you to pay in the app.
When you're invited
You get an email or a notification saying who invited you to split a payment. Open the booking and choose Accept & pay. If you accept first and pay later, the booking shows Pay your part. Pay before payments close. The booking shows how much time is left.
If you don't want to join, choose Reject invitation. You can't join the booking again after rejecting.
Leaving a shared payment after you've paid
You can leave after you've paid your share, while the booking is confirmed and the shared payment is still open. The booking shows when payments close.
- Open My activities and select the booking.
- Choose Leave reservation. Thril shows what you get back.
- Pick how you want the refund: as credits at the venue, or to your original payment method where that's possible.
- Confirm with Leave reservation.
You get your whole payment back: your share of the booking, your share of any shared extras, and your own extras. A refund to your original payment method can carry a small refund fee. The amount Thril shows already has it taken off. If you paid with a session card, the use goes back to the card. What a gift card paid goes back to the gift card.
Your place opens up. Someone else can take it through the booking's link. If nobody does, the booker pays your share.
A venue can also set up a shared payment where everyone pays only their own share and the booker doesn't cover the rest. The booking then says that each paying participant must cover their own share. To leave one of those after paying, ask the venue to take you off the booking and refund your share.
If you paid your share at the venue, or joined as a guest without a Thril account, ask the venue to take you off the booking. The venue settles the refund.
The booker can also remove you after you've paid. You then get your payment back by the Preferred refund method in your Payment settings.
Joining classes, courses and events
Pilates, yoga, spinning and other group classes, multi-week courses and events all work the same way on Thril. You sign up, queue for a full class, join online classes, and leave or sell your spot.
Booking for your child
Children on your Thril account join classes, courses and events and get memberships and session cards in their own name, paid and managed by you, until they move to an account of their own.
