Building a survey
A survey has an intro, sections of questions, follow-up questions that show after a given answer, a thank-you screen, its languages and the dates it is open.
New survey starts from a template or an empty survey. You name it, pick its languages, write the questions, decide who answers, and publish. A draft stays editable until you publish it, and Preview opens the survey as customers see it, without saving any answers.
Questions
| Question type | Good for |
|---|---|
| Rating | A score with stars or numbers, from 1 to a top you pick, with a label at each end such as "Poor" and "Excellent" |
| Net Promoter Score | "How likely are you to recommend us?" from 0 to 10, the score the results split into promoters and detractors |
| Single choice, Multiple choice | Picking from your options, shown as a list, a dropdown or chips. Add "Other, please specify" lets customers write their own |
| Yes or no | A plain yes or no, often followed by a question for one of the two |
| Short answer, Long answer | A word or a few sentences in the customer's own words |
| Number, Date, Email, Phone number | A value you can check, such as how many times a week someone trains |
| Text without a question | A note between questions, such as what the next section is about |
Each question can be Required. Rating and Net Promoter Score questions are the scores on the survey list, in the results and in the feedback on event and course pages.
Follow-up questions
Show this question makes a question appear only after a given answer to a question above it: a picked option, a score at least or at most a number, or yes or no. "What was too hard?" shows only to the customers who said the level was too hard, and "What should we do better?" only to those who gave 6 or less.
Sections, intro and thank-you screen
Sections split a long survey into pages. Customers answer one section at a time, which suits a phone. The intro tells customers what the survey is about and how long it takes. The thank-you screen can end with a button to your venue page or your company page.
Languages
A survey can have several languages. Customers answer in their own language when the survey has it, and they can switch. Text missing in a language shows in the Default language, and the summary before publishing lists what is missing in each one.
When the survey is open
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Opens, Closes | The dates customers can answer. Without them, the survey is open from publishing until you close it |
| Response limit | The survey takes no more answers after this many |
| Personal links expire after | The days a link sent to one customer works. The shared link never expires |
| Customers can change their answers | Customers can open their link again and change their answers until the survey closes |
| Ask for email at the end | Asks customers who answer through the shared link without signing in for their email |
| Venues | In a company with several venues, where the survey is asked. Staff at these venues see it |
Changing an open survey
You can change the questions while the survey is open. Saving publishes a new version: new responses answer the changed questions, and earlier answers stay in the results under the questions they answered. Answers to a question you removed show under Removed questions.
Close survey stops answers at once, and Reopen opens it again. Closed surveys keep their results. Duplicate copies a survey for the next season, without its responses. Archive puts away a survey you no longer use, with its results. Delete removes a survey and stops its links from working.
Surveys
Surveys ask your customers what they think after a course, an event or a visit. Every answer shows which course, event and coach it is about.
Sending a survey
Send a survey by email and push to the customers you choose, share its link and QR code, or let a workflow send it after each event, court booking or coaching session.
