Goodwill pricing

One recurring member can get free or lower-priced upcoming billing periods, used in the order you add them.

Goodwill pricing changes the price of one member's upcoming billing periods. Use it to make up for a closure, keep a member who is about to leave, or honour a price you agreed with someone. The member keeps their benefits, booking and door access. To stop those too, use a pause.

Adding free or discounted periods

On the Discounted periods tab under Manage member, choose Free periods or Fixed price and the number of billing periods. A fixed price includes VAT and applies to each period. Goodwill pricing works on recurring members with an upcoming billing period. For the periods it covers, it replaces an Every payment discount.

To change an entry, deactivate it and add a new one. Deactivate stops every unused period of the entry, and the next entry or the normal price moves to the front.

Pricing order

Thril uses a member's temporary prices in the order they were added, with introductory pricing from joining first. Take a member whose Pricing order is:

  1. Introductory pricing: 2 periods at €30
  2. Goodwill pricing: 1 free period
  3. Goodwill pricing: 2 periods at €40
  4. Normal price: €60

The first two charges are €30 each, the next is free, and the two after that are €40 each. Billing then returns to €60. Check Pricing order before you promise a member which renewal gets the new price.

A free period counts toward a contract like a paid one. On a notice period, a free goodwill period waives the last charge, and the membership ends on schedule.
