Pricing rules for reservations

Pricing rules price courts, studios and simulators by day, time and season in Thril, sell members-only hours, and set the durations and start times customers can book.

Pricing rules decide what a reservation costs and which times customers can book. A rule covers some resources on some weekdays and hours, and lists the durations it sells with a price for each. Customers book the times your rules cover.

A rule belongs to your company. One rule can price resources in several of your venues. The same winter prices can cover every hall at once.

Price peak hours, seasons and members

Peak and off-peak. Two rules on the same courts: one for weekdays 06:00 to 16:00 at a lower price, one for weekday evenings and weekends at the full price. Both are Always, and their hours don't overlap.

A summer season over the base price. Keep your Always rules and add a Between dates rule for June to August with lower prices. The seasonal rule wins on its dates, and the base rules come back when the season ends.

Members-only early mornings. A rule for 06:00 to 08:00 with Require membership to book. Non-members are offered the membership in place of these times. Read more in Membership benefits.

A member price. Keep one public rule for everyone, and set the member price on the membership. A reservation discount gives members 20% off whatever the rule charges. Custom pricing gives them their own rate, such as €15 an hour.

Two-hour simulator bookings on weekend evenings. A rule for your golf simulators on Fridays and Saturdays from 18:00 to midnight that lists only 120 minutes.

Any length at the same hourly price. List the price for 60 minutes and choose Scale from the shortest duration. Thril prices 90, 120 and 150 minutes in proportion.

How rules combine

The Validity of a rule is Always or Between dates. An Always rule and a Between dates rule can overlap on the same resource and time, and the dated rule applies on its dates. Two rules with the same validity cover separate hours.

The same goes for Require membership to book. Members-only hours get their own time window, or a members-only Between dates rule over a public Always rule closes those hours to non-members for the season.

A membership's reservation discount comes off the price of whichever rule prices the time. Its custom pricing replaces that price for its members.

Durations and start times

Each rule lists the durations it sells, such as 60 minutes for €30 and 90 minutes for €42. Longer durations decides what else is offered:

  • Only the durations listed above. Customers book exactly these.
  • Scale from the shortest duration. Thril prices longer bookings at the per-minute price of the shortest one, up to the length you set. A duration you list keeps its own price. List 120 minutes at a lower price to sell two hours for less.

Blocked start times stop slots starting at the times you pick, while the time itself stays bookable. With 18:30 blocked, nothing starts at 18:30, and an 18:00 to 19:30 booking is still offered.

Exclude unwanted time slot gaps is on by default. It hides start times that would leave a gap too short to book, such as 30 minutes between two one-hour bookings. On a resource where 90-minute games often fill a two-hour gap, turn on Ignore unwanted gaps -rule in 2 hour gaps between reservations under Customer booking.

Where the rules apply

A rule change applies to bookings made after you save, and reservations already made keep their price. You change the price of one booking on the reservation itself. Read more in Managing reservations.

A partner venue you have authorized to book your resources has pricing rules of its own for its bookings. Read more in Partner venues.

The extra time you sell at the end of a booking is priced as a share of these rules. Read more in Selling more time.

To price per player on a darts board or bowling lane, use a resource priced per participant. Tax rates are set on the resource.

Prices for a customer group

To give seniors, a partner club or your coaches their own prices without selling them anything, use a membership that is not for sale. Staff add the customers to it by hand, and its reservation discount or custom pricing applies to them. Read more in Customer group prices.
