Fill off-peak hours
Off-peak prices, empty slot alerts, open games, daytime series and a morning invitation sell weekday mornings and afternoons, and statistics show whether the courts filled.
Most venues sell out from 17:00 and stand half empty before that. The people who could play at 10:00 on a Tuesday often don't know a court is free, or have nobody to play with. A lower price is the first move. Reaching those people is the rest.
The moves here are for courts, golf simulators and darts boards with a clear evening peak. A studio with empty daytime classes gets more from Launch group classes.
The morning invitation uses workflows, a paid add-on. To get them, press I'm interested on the Workflows page in the dashboard, and Thril's sales team contacts you.
Off-peak prices
Start here, because every other move sells this price. Give the off-peak hours their own pricing rule on the same courts, such as weekdays 07:00 to 16:00 at a lower price, next to the full-price evening rule.
A membership can do the same for members. A reservation discount limited to weekdays 08:00 to 14:00 sends members to the quiet hours and leaves the evening price as it is.
Alerts to the people who can come
Empty slot alerts push unsold time to customers in the Thril app. Make a rule for your courts and set Hours to offer to your off-peak window. If evening bookings start sliding into the cheaper hours, switch off Unsold time on the rule and keep Last-minute cancellations.
Give the rule a customer list of people who can come in the day. An age filter finds seniors, for example. Customers without the app hear about free time from the morning invitation email.
Open games
A free court at 10:00 often needs three more players more than it needs a discount. Post a Recurring open reservation for a weekday morning, named for its level, such as "Morning padel (level 2-3)". See Open reservations.
Daytime series and cards
A recurring reservation product sells a weekly slot for a season. Limit its time range to your off-peak hours and add Discounts per session for customers who pay the series at once. Retired regulars and company groups book a whole autumn of Tuesday mornings in one go.
A session card suits customers who want to choose the time each week. A ten-session card limited to weekday mornings is the "weekday morning card" on Session cards.
The next hour for players on court
Selling more time offers the next free hour to the players already on the court. It sells best off-peak, when the court after a booking is often free.
A morning invitation
The Fill morning courts workflow template emails the customers on a list who have nothing booked, every morning, with an invitation to play before noon. Keep the list to regulars, such as customers with three bookings in the last six months. Add a personal promo code to the email for an extra push.
A standing code works on its own too: a Reservation discount limited to weekday mornings, for a customer list.
Weekday utilisation by hour
Open Statistics and pick Days of week Monday to Friday.
- Utilisation rate by hour of day shows the morning and early afternoon bars. Read it for a month before you started, then for the latest month. Utilisation rate at the top compares the whole period with the Reference date range.
- Resource ranking: utilisation rate shows which courts still stand empty.
- Extra time sold by the app counts the extra time players bought.
- Offered times sold on the empty slot alerts page shows, per rule, how many of the offered times customers booked.
- A promo code's usage list shows every booking it discounted. A workflow with the Goal Makes a reservation shows how many customers booked after the email.
Read utilisation and money together. Courts full at a lower price can earn less than courts half full at the old one. Avg. booked value / 60 min follows the weekday filter and shows what an hour earns now.
Get booked online
Your venue page, Google Business Profile, booking without an account, a welcome offer, customer ratings and campaign tracking turn people who search online into customers who book in Thril.
Launch group classes
Scheduled classes, series and templates, instructors, session cards and memberships, queues, payment rules and attendance run a weekly class timetable, and statistics show which classes fill.
